London producer Zomby is an artist shrouded in mystery, someone whose identity remains secret, even after dropping a slew of singles on the Hyperdub and Werk labels. Mining heavily from old-school rave, jungle, and breakbeat hardcore, he has managed to put an entirely new spin on dubstep. Now Zomby is bringing his unique sounds across the pond for a select few shows in the United States, where he'll be joined by a unique cast of fellow bass aficionados that includes Bersa Discos, Lazer Sword, and the Trouble & Bass crew. Low-end freaks should certainly not miss these shows.

With the growing buzz surrounding lazer bass, it comes as little surprise that someone like Bay Area beat manipulator Mochipet would launch a new monthly party highlighting some of the scene's best talents. For the inaugural edition of Bass Camp, Mochipet has invited TURBOCRUNK, a Montreal supergroup of sorts featuring Megasoid, Lunice, and Hovatron. Also performing are Robert Koch from Berlin-based global bass outfit Jahcoozi, the Tokyo/L.A. duo Bass Science, and San Francisco's own Lazer Sword. Mochipet himself will be hosting and doing a special birthday set, while Bass Camp residents Epcot & Salva, Quitter, and Buddy Leroy will round out the evening.
