Proudly Parisian imprint Cracki, known primarily for its parties in derelict factories and an abandoned train station, dropped its debut release this past Sunday, a piece of soulful house by fellow Frenchman Larcier. “Sometimes I See” (artwork above) is minimal and groovy, with warbling synth layers and a simple, bouncing bassline. Larcier rejects the over-use of production gimmicks, using only subtle panning as his effect of choice, while the vulnerability of the tender, high-pitched vocals fits perfectly with the extended pauses in this classically deep-sounding tune.
