Bristolian producer Minotaur Shock (a.k.a. David Edwards) has returned to his home label, Melodic, after a lengthy hiatus following a couple of records for 4AD, in order to unleash his fourth LP, Orchard (artwork above). Ahead of that album’s release on August 20, Edwards shares a remix of lead single “Saundersfoot” by fellow UK beatcrafter Gold Panda. The oscillating dizziness and driving momentum Gold Panda has cultivated in cuts like “An Iceberg Hurled Northward Through Clouds” contorts the full-bodied sound of Minotaur Shock’s original song, as the remixing producer wraps the meaty layer of low end around a more syncopated rhythm and anchors it to a steady four-on-the-floor kick.
