UK duo Just Kiddin is another rising ourfit that has found its own comfortable place between the littany of genres that fall under the umbrella of “bass music.” The pair’s house influence seems to be the anchor of “Soul Drop,” as the track shuffles just above 120 bpm while dishing out a never-ending array of warm, filter-tweaked chords and bits of post-dubstep-referencing percussion. Still, on “Soul Drop”—not to mention, the rest of the forthcoming Intimacy EP—Just Kiddin manages to infuse just the right touch of pop into the mix without going overboard and without ever losing sight of the dancefloor. Just Kiddin’s new record is available tomorrow exclusively on Beatport, but you can stream the full three-track affair after the jump, where you’ll also find a found-footage video—directed by Will and Nick Brown—for the funky roller “I Want You.”
