To coincide with the its fifth birthday, London label Bullet Train will release its Allstars Volume II compilation later this month, with the slinky “Poppin'” tune from UK outfit Cause & Affect set to tease the forthcoming 12-track collection in the meantime. Built atop a skipping framework, the club-minded production is a thick house workout, one which utilizes a simple vocal refrain, an endlessly burrowing bassline, and a host of melodies seemingly pulled from the depths of the Milky Way to reach its desired, well, effect. The Birmingham duo’s low-swung tune will serve as the upcoming compilation’s opener when it drops as a free download on August 26, complete with more contributions from Last Japan, Marco Del Horno, and others.
