Mid-December sees one of the Chicago’s hardest-working indie labels, Thrill Jockey, celebrating 15 years of making music, with two days of celebrations scheduled to be held at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago.
For this milestone, which takes place Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15, fans can expect two “dueling” stages, special guests, and a lineup that includes some of Thrill Jockey’s current stars, like ADULT., Pit Er Pat, The Sea and Cake, and Califone. Weekend passes are available for 50 bones.
And of course, a party ain’t a party without the favors. Each attendee will receive a copy of the Super Epic Thrill Jockey Mega Massive Mix compilation by Girl talk and Frank Musarra. The label handed its back catalog over to these two, who proceeded to mix and mash various tracks into some eyebrow-raising remixes. The disc will only be available at the Chicago parties (a few were also distributed at the London edition of the celebration, which took place November 11-12 with All Tomorrow’s Parties). A VERY limited number of CDs will be sold through the label’s site and by Trey Told ‘Em.
For the rest of you, the Thrill Jockey 15th Anniversary Box Set is out December 4 in the U.S.
