Alec Ness has released his debut EP, Temporary Awareness of Passing, via Against Giants.

Temporary Awareness of Passing is an affecting collection of tracks that touch on UK garage, sci-fi ambience, synthwave, and beat-driven pop. The release was recorded during a period of self-imposed confinement, and echoes Alec’s influences—Burial, Vangelis, and Aphex Twin—via deconstructed club tropes, introspective synth work, and emotive vocals.

In support of the release, which is available here, Against Giants has offered up EP cut “Harbinger” as today’s XLR8R download. Unfolding across three minutes, “Harbinger” is a gorgeous display of pop-infused electronics; a track full of gritty drums, searing synths, and thick engulfing atmospheres.

You find the download of “Harbinger” below, along with the full EP stream.
