I’m Isabelita, and I write, sing, and produce everything by myself in my bedroom, at the same house I’ve lived in my entire life on the outskirts of South London. Since I was 15 I’ve been heavily inspired by the work ethic of Grimes, being a female artist in complete control of her craft. More recently I’ve found massive inspiration through Lava La Rue whilst I’ve been getting more involved with the UK and London underground music and arts scene.
I wrote ‘can’t complain’ after my ex and I broke up after we met up a few months later to catch up. We spoke about how we had both seen other people since our break up, and whilst knowing that he had moved on hurt, at the end of the day I couldn’t complain because I had done the same thing, hence the name of the song.
As I continue to learn, my style has developed, and although I have two songs already released, ‘can’t complain’ is honestly the only song I’m truly happy with and excited to release. I hope you have a listen and like it too.
