I’m an electronic musician, who mixes classical music and electronic sounds.
I played at les Trans Musicales, Le Bon Air, and the foundation Louis Vuitton.
I released album on Johnkôôl Records, Nice Guys, and will on Delicieuse Musique.
“We have listened a lot to Losange these days, which, unless there is a cataclysm, is likely
to continue for a long time.” Libération
“An ode to the computer, at the same time repetitive, minimalist and still full of feelings,
that’s what awaits you on the first album of Benoit Baudrin, one would be tempted if we
were a little lazy to summarize it like a synthetic sequel to Terry Riley’s “In C”.” Gonzaï
“A dreamlike and hypnotic electronic symphony in several movements. (…) The
audiovisual performance plunges us into an atmosphere that oscillates between dreamlike
grandeur and a moment of deep relaxation” Mixmag
My technique is the extension of the score system. The major advance of the score is that it quantifies the notes and rhythms. Using my computer technique, I extend the concept to the last musical component: the tone. Everything I compose is made from digital sound synthesis, so I can give values to tone, and thus be able to have a closed and coherent system. This is for me like the colors palette for the painter. Over time, he will know in his mind what it is possible to do with the help of it, to go as quickly as possible from his idea to its realization.
In my music, unlike many artists, I have remained firmly attached to the melody. For me it’s the skeleton, the soul of all valuable music, and the rest is just a dressing. My synthesis technique allows me to be as precise as possible to best serve the emotion and the message that I want to convey through the melody and its harmony.
