One Child Policy is the solo moniker of 曹偌伟 / Dennis Ruowei Cao, a Los Angeles–based producer, DJ, and sound designer. Cao was raised by two electrical engineers who sparked his fascination with electronic music at a very early age. His breakthrough debut, ‘Cultural Transmissions’, released in November 2017, delivered a unique take on atmospheric techno, electro, acid and leftfield house. It was well received by the likes of Mixmag, Resident Advisor, and XLR8R. Since then he’s also released on labels such as Black Lodge, Guangzhou Underground and Arca’s Mutants Mixtape. And appeared on Rinse FM, NTS, Dublab, and various other radio stations. This EP marks the first release on Cao’s label Dian Nao (电脑, “electronic brain”), which will serve as a platform for his own productions and future releases from forward-thinking electronic artists.
