work as ‘cato’ aka ‘cato gilmour’, ‘circadian delays’ and ‘schwarzmodul’:
with a norwegian background heavy on classic synthesizers, early digital samplers and sound manglers, cato spent years connecting wires, sounds and ideas in new and subversive ways. early inspirations include artists as diverse as klaus schulze, daf, cabaret voltaire, throbbing gristle, nico and schoenberg.
as cato aka cato gilmour and circadian delays he has written scores and music for feature films (“stone” starring robert de niro), produced remixes (t.rex, the who, alpha, robot koch, the carpenters, wendy rae fowler and more) and was the only one chosen to reimagine the music of vangelis for “blade runner 2049” (campaign), having had his music, remixes, dark musical sound design and co-productions featured in over 1,200 movie trailers (“dune”, “tenet”, “songbird”), tv-shows (“how to get away with murder”), video games (“need for speed”) and films (“wall street: money never sleeps”). cato is about to revive his first duo, paige, with lauded norwegian author/playwright hans petter blad, with releases and a stage play expected in 2021/22.
as schwarzmodul his first s/t release came out on track number records (november 2016) accompanied by an xlr8r video premiere. schwarzmodul is featured on robot koch’s “tsuki” and “hypermoment” (monkeytown records), and the pair released the dark techno collaboration black water in 2019 on friends of friends. other releases include ‘kompleplika’, released by native instruments for their “komplete sketches”. ‘post pandemic’, schwarzmodul has more than one release planned for 2021, played live at bl_k noise 2020 and is slated to play upcoming, yet to be announced festival shows.
