Album 1 is the first collection of Pink B songs, a multi-faceted project by an Italian composer who prefers anonymity. Originally each track was combined with an oil painting and engraved in a single copy on dubplate. The artist uses the painting in a metaphorical sense or as a vehicle to equate the piece with art, enhancing the composition and at the same time giving it shape. This concept has been called “materialized music”.

Pink B’s work intends to attack the listener by sending him messages. Music is the means to push him to an introspective analysis, in search of the right and the wrong, the beauty and the ugliness. The artist places elements of different genres on the same level, mixing refined and banal sounds in the search for a work that represents him. It is too easy to define Album 1 as a criticism, it is an autobiographical representation of the artist, an alternation of joy and despair, of selling oneself or expressing oneself naturally. As the tracks advance, Pink B thus reveals her feelings: inner tension, depersonalization and anguish alternating with intuition, energy and hope.

Album 1 is therefore a balance between contrasting elements, an attempt to strike the essence beyond research, a reference to the past for modern listening. The listener is thus projected beyond the artistic obsession with perfection, in search of nothing other than himself.
