Kilkenny-based DJ and producer Casper Hastings has been active on the Irish club circuit since 2014 and has evolved into an alluring artist with an abundance of creative capacity.

With a sound that stems from his teenage years DJing at under-the-radar raves and local parties in rural Ireland, Casper’s aesthetic as a selector reflects his taste in classic techno, chunky electro and old-skool jungle; the kind that comes from the furthest corner of the record shop and hours spent trawling through Discogs.

Laying down the groundwork for technical prowess, Casper studied sound engineering in his early twenties, and this knowledge remains the backbone of his precision and ear for exploring multiple soundscapes in the studio. Releases on Yin Yang Label, TXTRL, Sticky Ground, RLSD Records, Rave Selekts, Obscuur Records have highlighted his leanings toward bouncy but dark techno in tandem with warbling electro, between remixes of his work supplied by Peder Mannerfelt, No Moon, Sancta Sanctorum and many more, with Casper himself remixing releases by Ike Dusk, Sluhg and Drvg Cvlture to name a few.

Bookings across Europe and the UK spanning Munich’s Rotte Sonne, Glasgow’s La Cheetah, Paris’ Glazart, London’s Corsica Studios, Pickle Factory and Dublin’s beloved Hangar and Turk’s Head have allowed Casper to experience a multitude of audiences on an international scale, further propelling his name beyond the terrain of Ireland.

Currently waiting for the nightlife to open up again in a post-Covid era, Casper Hastings is a promising talent set to flourish this year.
