The Wandering Mind is Open Spaces’ second EP of immersive binaural ambience and is due for release on the Australian record label lo fi spiritual on Aug 13, 2022.
This record captures the title’s sentiment of ‘The Wandering Mind’. Melodic gestures emerge from transcendental drones and are interwoven with binaural field recordings capturing a sense of space.
Speaking of space, the EP has been mixed in 360 for binaural / headphone listening. Technically the mixing was done in Ableton live via the open source software, Envelop for Live.
Open Spaces’ first release on Californian cassette tape label Constellation Tatsu, sold out back in 2020 with much acclaim in the niche world of ambient music. This is Open Spaces first release since 2020.
