DJ Seinfeld, Mary Lattimore, Aparde, and More Remix James Heather on ‘Reworks’ Album
'Reworks' is scheduled for December 7 release via Ahead Of Our Time.
James Heather will soon follow up his debut LP, Stories From Far Away On Piano, with the Reworks album, scheduled for December 7 release via Ahead Of Our Time. The album contains a selection of tracks from Modulations: EP 1 and Stories From Far Away On Piano, and includes reworks by DJ Seinfeld, Mary Lattimore, and Sarah Davachi, and new additional string quartet versions by James Heather himself. The album is set for release on Ninja Tune founders Coldcut’s original label, Ahead Of Our Time.
In support of the release, James Heather and Ahead Of Our Time have unveiled the DJ Seinfeld remix of “MHope.” The track sees Seinfeld treating the original solo piano recording with minimal synth layering and a delicacy rarely heard from his own works.
Heather says of the remix: “I’ve long been an admirer of DJ Seinfeld’s work—one of the things I love about it is his treatment of the piano and pulling off the fine line in conveying melancholy, but also a sense of hope and energy through the instrument. I am honoured he has done a version of ‘MHope.’ I feel DJ Seinfeld has really captured a feeling that feels true to my intentions on the track, without being briefed a narrative in anyway.”
