Premiere: Stream Samuel Kerridge’s Cavernous Rework of Ancestral Voices
Abdulla Rashim, ASC & Sam KDC, and Pact Infernal also feature on the remix package.
Liam Blackburn is an electronic renaissance man. From his textured work as Indigo to the genreless electronics alongside Synkro as Akkord and his latest project, Ancestral Voices, Blackburn’s work, although always sitting on the fringes, has constantly dazzled listeners.
The latest LP under his Ancestral Voices moniker, Night Of Visions—released via Samurai Horo—now gets the remix treatment from some of the MVPs of the techno and experimental realms including Abdulla Rashim, ASC & Sam KDC, and Pact Infernal. Each remixer was asked to choose their own track to rework, giving the project a personal touch.
For his addition, Samuel Kerridge chose to use elements from two tracks, “Sleepless Night, First Light” and “Ritual Terre.” In his distinctive style, Kerridge intertwines, twists, and disseminates the elements into a haunting piece of cavernous music.
Part 1, featuring Abdulla Rashim and ASC & KDC, is out now and can be purchased here, with Part 2 arriving on July 29. Ahead of that release, you can stream Samuel Kerridge’s remix in full via the player above.
