Saturday night in Los Angeles Minimal Effort takes over the Belasco Theater for its mega Halloween bash filling six rooms with artists including Anja Schneider, Miss Kittin, Hunter/Game, and a live set by recent Trainwreck artist Rodriguez Jr. (get tickets here).
Barcelona’s visual art’s festival MIRA kicks off with Open Acts – a weekend of free conferences, AV shows and interactive installations at Arts Santa Mònica. This will be continued by a full club program in Fabra i Coats and Razzmatazz Nov 6 and 7 with live and AV performances by Blanck Mass, Andy Stott, Rival Consoles, Nosaj Thing and locals Loppkio + Gnomalab.
Portugal’s ear and mind-bending experimental festival Semibreve takes place this weekend in Braga featuring Dopplereffekt, Powell, Tim Hecker, Takami Nakamoto + Sebastien Benoits, plus installations by collaborators Phill Niblock and Ana Carvalho, Vitor Joaquim, Casa da Música/Digitópia and more.
In the spirit of Halloween we also recommend tonights’ Dig Deeper with DJ Sprinkles in Los Angeles (get tickets here); Friday nights’ Ninja Tune take over of Clock Strikes 13 in London with iconic label acts King Midas Sound, Fennesz, Dean Blunt, and the first UK show of Shackleton‘s Powerplant project; Saturday nights’ Found Horror Series which continues its second night with Maya Jane Cole and friends Damian Lazarus, Mount Kimbie and others, also in London.
