roBOt Festival has announced the third wave of acts for this year’s event, including exclusive national previews, live sets, DJ sets and an A/V project.

First of all, there is the back to back between the Canadian Daphni (aka “Caribou“) and Floating Points, which will be the only show of this kind in Italy in 2015. Included also is Russian Philipp Gorbachev who will present his first live set in Italy. His live show is built for the dancefloor with unusual and irregular geometries, quotes and odd throwbacks to punk or jazz experimentation. Finally, the British Blanck Mass will also present a live set. 

The festival will also be presenting the curatorial project of the A/V section, which combines in “Bora” – a little gem, the visual talent of the Italian Yuri Ancarani with the apocalyptic sonar architectures of the English Samuel Kerridge (after he bewitched Steven O’Malley).

Many artists also take roBOt festival also as a chance to present their new albums. They come from hip hop, such as the Italian Lorenzo Nada (a.k.a. Godblesscomputers) who will introduce Plush And Safe, and the Chilean Flako who proposes an abstract hip hop with a human factor that expands his own music arsenal by incorporating voices and vintage synths. And then the South African Nozinja (a.k.a. Shangaan Electro), will introduce his debut album for Warp in which the new bizarre and accelerated sound of Soweto’s dancefloors is captured perfectly. 

The Bug (a.k.a. Kevin Martin) is the artist presented by Red Bull Music Academy inside this third wave of names. His is a live show of deep and disquieting accelerations. The rare and irregular genius that in a 25-year career has built vertiginous and incredible bridges between hip hop, industrial, dubstep, noise, avant-guard and jazz.

With this third announcement, the program is also enriched with another two female DJ sets: that of the German Helena Hauff, one of the most interesting and personal emerging talents around today – and that of her compatriot Lena Willikens where disco becomes house, techno and EBM in an indefinable and unpredictable set.

A preview for this year’s edition will take place on September 20 at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, with the main festival scheduled from October 7-10 at Palazzo Re Enzo, BolognaFiere.
