Set to appear as part of his 3024 label’s KJL series, Martyn (pictured above) will reissue his 2009 collaboration with late UK vocalist/poet The Spaceape, “Is This Insanity?” (from the producer’s debut LP, Great Lengths) and Ben Klock‘s “monumental” remix of the track later this month.
“‘Is This Insanity?’ was the first collaboration with the inimitable vocalist and great friend Stephen Gordon (a.k.a. The Spaceape),” Martyn tells in a press release. “The song was written shortly after Stephen’s daughter was born and deals with the roller coaster of emotions one goes through taking care of a new life,” he further explains,”You carry on because there’s a responsibility, but at the same time you ask yourself whether this is insanity?” Out of stock for years now, Martyn has elected to reissue the track and its accompanying remix in part to honor the memory of The Spaceage, who sadly passed away in October of last year after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Out on January 26, the 12″ will also feature a previously unreleased Martyn production, “Camberwell Green,” in its run. Ahead of the record’s release, the vinyl’s tracklist has been included below along with a stream of Ben Klock’s 2010 remix for “Is This Insanity?”
A1. Is This Insanity? (feat Spaceape)
A2. Camberwell Green
