Set to arrive next on the freshly launched Seven Villas label is Proximity, a five-track EP from Barcelona-based producer Pablo Sanchez. Leading the charge is “Broken Blues,” a patient and methodical expedition into the more sunburnt ends of house. Spanning over six minutes, the track lurches forward, its interlocked layers of shakers, hats, rolling snares, and light percussion pushing the track’s momentum ahead as rich synth patterns gradually fill out the proceedings. Sanchez’s Proximity EP is set to arrive on October 6; in the meantime, “Borken Bells” can be downloaded below while a video for the record’s title track can be viewed after the jump.
