Operating together as Terriers, the Dublin pair of Peter Ward and Ronan Downing have landed on fledgling hometown label Major Problems with its House No9 EP, a four-track voyage into deep and immersive electronics rounded out with a remix from Tuff Sherm.
On House No9, Terriers productions coyly exist somewhere between house and techno, with opening cut “House No9/Stardragon” bathing a steady stomp in fluid pads and cavernous melodies, while “Baywalker” and “Panama Jack” fit patches of refracted soul amongst their heavy atmospheres and underwater arpeggios. Tuff Sherm is brought in to finish off the effort, stretching the EP’s opener to an unhurried seven-plus minutes, during which the Australian producer culls an infectious bounce from a host of unwieldily electronics.
Terriers vinyl-only House No9 EP is out today and can be streamed in full below.
