Set to join Daniel Avery’s recent remix of “Sky,” the latest single from Matthew Dear’s Audion alias, on an upcoming four-track 12″ is this brand-new version of the track from Hotflush label boss Scuba (pictured above). The Berlin-based DJ/producer born Paul Rose delivers a decidedly tech-y production here, balancing a consistent dancefloor thump with subtle percussive sounds, wispy atmospheres, and the satisfying bounce of a rounded, simplistic bassline. The whole thing certainly takes its time to get moving, but after diving head first into a pool of glowing synth tones, “Sky (Scuba Remix)” leans heavily into its mechanical groove. Before it arrives on June 30 via Spectral Sound, Rose’s new remix for Audion can be streamed in full below, where the tracklist for the 12″ is also included.
