Last month, Brooklyn producer and visual artist Aurora Halal announced that she would soon be launching a label arm of her famed Mutual Dreaming parties. That news has come to fruition today with the release of Passageway, a five-track effort that serves as both Halal’s debut EP and her new imprint’s first outing. Even better, one of its tracks has surfaced online. “Overpass” begins by combining spacey melodies with a subtle percussive pulse and lilting bits of a mysterious vocal, and slowly brings in hints of acid over the course of its four-plus-minute runtime.
