After announcing last month that her sophomore LP for Hyperdub was on its way, Brooklyn producer Laurel Halo has now shared a stream of album track “Ainnome,” the first preview of the record to arrive so far. Serving as the forthcoming Chance of Rain LP’s second-to-last tack, “Ainnome” is a methodical piece of hardware-driven techno, one which matches an almost calming array of chorded pads with a handful of machine-made rhythms and, eventually, a percolating bassline. The tune comes closer in sound to Laurel Halo’s noteworthy Behind the Green Door EP from earlier this year, as opposed to her somehwat polarizing full-length debut, Quarantine. Nonetheless, the artist’s latest production finds her constantly evolving and continuing to push forward. Below, “Ainnome” can be streamed in full before the Chance of Rain LP drops on October 28.
