On this all-Australian remix, rising Syndney soundsmith Wave Racer takes on “Don’t Be Shy” by DCUP (pictured above), the title cut from the Melbourne-based producer’s forthcoming EP. Taking quite a few pages from Rustie’s oft-borrowed playbook, Wave Racer infuses the original song with an all-encompassing neon glow, balancing the skittering boom-bap which drives his production with sparkling arpeggios, bright guitar strums, and a never-ending array of gliding synth touches. DCUP’s original version of “Don’t Be Shy” and Wave Racer’s remix will be joined by further reworks from Tyler Touche, Boys Get Hurt, and Slumberjack when the Don’t Be Shy EP officially drops on September 23.
