There’s a swirl of 8-bit chaos hidden in the original version of Emufucka‘s “Xanadu,” a characteristic which barely begins to show itself as the song comes to a close. Tokyo bass alchemist and Project:Mooncircle ally Submerse‘s remix of the track seems to start from the end and work its way back to the beginning, throwing all the elements that defined the original and ratcheting up their volume and intensity. Furthermore, his take on Emufucka’s cut not only flips the arrangement of the tune, but also drops the tempo into a half-time strut. Emufucka’s Quark/4 EP—which serves as the home to the original and this remixed version of “Xanadu”—will be available on March 25 via the Loveless label.
