It seems that, since the inception of his Submerse moniker roughly four years ago, the Tokyo-based producer born Rob Orme has churned out an unstoppable string of 12″ singles, EPs, remixes, and beyond. Last year saw him contributing to both Apollo‘s and Project: Mooncircle‘s catalogs, including the extremely popular freebie he offered on XLR8R, “Pressure.” Now, he’s set to start his 2013 release schedule with the Algorithms and Ghosts EP. Once again arriving courtesy of Project: Mooncircle, Submerse’s seven-track record is scheduled to appear on March 15 as a digital package and limited-edition 12″. Talking about his upcoming release, Orme says, “I took a lot of inspiration from three main points of Tokyo City. There are traditional parks and shrines/temples that really take you away from the high-rise buildings and make you feel like you could be in the countryside. Next, there are typical shops, neon lights, offices and general city life, and lastly, there is the red light area which is a great place to see all walks of life, from gangsters, working girls and strange things behind closed doors. I’m fascinated by this place. It seems like another world to me. I’m always drawn to it out of curiosity, and the feeling I get while passing though is really inspiring.” You can preview exactly what came from that inspiration in the player below, where you’ll also find the tracklist for Algorithms and Ghosts.
