The longtime pro-audio plug-in developers at Waves have announced the release of the company’s first softsynth ever, called Element. Billed as an “analog-style” polyphonic synthesizer, Element seeks to find a balance between the powerful sounds of classic synthesis and digital control. Some of its good-looking features include a 16-step arpeggio/sequencer function, two dedicated oscillators powered by “Virtual Voltage” technology, a highly customizable filter section, and plenty of on-board FX—such as reverb, delay, chorus, distortion, and a bitcrusher.
