In his review of “Toby Jug,” the 2012 single from UK tunesmith Doc Daneeka and vocalist Abigail Wyles, XLR8R editor Shawn Reynaldo called the song “simple” and “stripped-down,” which—as it turns out—are also great descriptors for the tune’s brand-new video. Director, producer, and editor Lewis Lloyd delivers four and a half minutes of shadowy-yet-colorful eye candy which consists mostly of the soulful singer delivering her melodies while bathed in flickering light. Those shots are sporadically interspersed with grainy footage of carnival rides and the bright lights which adorn them, making for an effectively eerie clip to pair with Doc Daneeka & Abigail Wyles’ moving tune.
