While we Americans were away from our computers yesterday, soaking in more natural rays of light than our screen’s alluring glow, folks on the other side of the pond were chugging along as per usual, and unveiled some choice mixes from a few of our favorite UK DJ/producers. Over on Dummy, purveyor of dreamy house music BNJMN delivered an expectedly lush and tasteful mix with tunes from Lone, Synkro, Legowelt, Lukid, and more. Hackman (pictured above) did his thing for Mixmag yesterday, which includes productions from Kyle Hall, Patrice Scott, Groove Armada, and Gerry Read. And speaking of Gerry Read, the tunesmith delivered his own mix of dark, punishing techno—comprised of work by Jeff Mills, Hieroglyphic Being, and plenty of DJ Rush, among others—for Inverted Audio at the tail end of June. Lastly, London’s Darling Farah, having just released its solid Body album, did “July Mix” full of 14 eclectic jams from the likes of A Made Up Sound, Untold, Boards of Canada, Locked Groove, and others. Now that we’re all caught up, it looks like the soundtrack for our weekend is officially sorted.
