Two Californian bass enthusiasts, Frite Nite label head Salva and San Francisco producer DJG (who actually prefers to go by his last name, Grenier, now), have joined forces to inaugurate a new series of “DJ-friendly” digital singles meant to “[showcase] the crew’s eclectic taste in dance music.” Called FTNT014, the first two-track release features the UK-jungle-meets-jackin’-Chicago-house vibes of “Wake the Dead” as its lead tune and “Forest Floor,” a deeper and moodier production, on the proverbial flip. Both tunes will be available to download on May 1, but you can head over to Pitchfork to stream “Forest Floor” ahead of its release date.
