Greco-Roman is readying the debut solo release from Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio, the Sunburn EP, which is due out on May 21 prior to his US and European tours this summer. It’s not everyday that a member of one of indie music’s most renowned bands detaches themselves from their star-making project to write an underground house release, and we would have never expected these type of jams from VW’s Baio. A three-tracker featuring a collaboration with Kompakt‘s Matias Aguayo, “Tanto”, the Sunburn EP will hone in on Baio’s “college-era roots as DJ and music director of Barnard’s WBAR.” Baio will also be doing a small US tour this spring, followed by a more extensive European leg (to be announced) in the summer, while hosting a launch party for the record on May 25 at NYC’s Le Bain and June 15 at London’s XOYO.
