Individual artists whose output is of a consistently higher standard are tough to find. But an entire crew of producers who are able to put out quality tunes on a regular basis is an even rarer prospect. It’s with this in mind that we pass along an unreleased track by the mysterious LHF collective from London, whose debut full-length on Keysound, Keepers of the Light (artwork above), is out now. “Tandava” is a warm, soulful jam that begins with a clipped string sample before descending into vintage garage territory, complete with shuffling hi-hats and hollowed-out percussion that accompany the rolling kicks. A simple-but-effective vocal sample acts as icing on the cake, helping to emphasize the irresistible pull of the groove as we’re swept blissfully into the song’s second half. After the jump, you can also delve into an interactive map of the LHF crew’s influences, which was assmbled by Matt Ashton; akin to the collective’s tunes, it’s really something else. (And if you just can’t get enough LHF/Keysound magic [and happen to be in London], look for the crew to take over Fabric‘s Room Three this Friday, April 20, alongside rostermates LV, Dusk & Blackdown, Sully, Vibezin, and more.)
