The R&S imprint is set to yet again break new sounds from an up-and-coming UK outfit, this time tapping Sam Ricketts and Tom Clarke, collectively known as Cloud Boat, for their debut release. The pair of producers have been building quite a reputation over the past year, being utilized by like-minded purveyors of bass music James Blake and Mount Kimbie as support for their respective tours, and now Cloud Boat will debut their work in recorded form with the “Lions on the Beach” b/w “Bastion” single. You’ll find preview clips for both sides of the forthcoming release (out August 29 for vinyl and September 5 for digital) below, along with the accompanying artwork. We’re told to expect “Steve Reich vs. Mala sprinkled with a little Thom Yorke and some light-fingered Burial along the way.” If the single ends up being even half what that description claims, we’re in for another solid release from the legendary Belgian imprint.
