Having hopped the dubstep wagon earlier this year with songs like the Benga-produced single “Katy On A Mission,” Katy B‘s new mission appears to be pop stardom. This new one, called “Lights On,” made by Rinse FM boss Geeneus, also features a turn from UK urban princess Ms. Dynamite. The song is clearly in debt to the break-out success of Ms. Dynamite’s collaboration with producer DJ Zinc on “Wile Out,” and her verse here is a clear highlight, as her double-time rhymes and vocal confidence offers a potent mixture of Jamaican dancehall styles and American pop hooks.
