Since the release of Shlomoshun Deluxe early this year, SF/LA music maker Shlohmo has been on the tip of every herky-jerky beat-lover’s tongue, and we’ll admit we’ve also been keeping our ear perked for what’s coming next from the young producer. As it turns out, his next salvo is going to be the Camping EP, slated for release on the Friends of Friends label, who have passed along a taste of the seven-track affair with the new jam “Birthday Beat.” Henry Laufer’s new tune follows in suit with his previous work, furthering the ever-growing, oft-changing beat scene, but takes things in a new direction with the employment of a soulful synth melody that could’ve easily been lifted from a number of classic ’90s R&B tunes. Check out the song, along with the Camping EP’s artwork and tracklist, before it’s released on June 15, and before Shlohmo hits the road with Strangeloop and Teebs for a string of dates, which are all listed below.
