MIRA 新伝統 are performance artists and A/V production duo based in Tokyo. They published their first video performance “Torque” on Vienna-based label “AMEN” in 2019 based on the real-life experience of sexual abuse and sex-work conditions in Japan by their co-founder Honami Higuchi.

Since then they have been performing in nightclubs and hosting their own radio shows on Hong Kong Community Radio and Internet Public Radio and gained a rapidly growing recognition inside and outside the Japanese artistic and musical scene.

Their most notable activities in the past year have been:
– Opening for Yves Tumor live in Tokyo end of 2019 at WWW
– Invited by Ryuchi Sakamoto to take part in the D2021, for which they wrote a tribune in I-D magazine about the accelerating “disembodiment” occurring in the Japanese society.
– NTS debut with Akito earlier this April.
