Berlin-based independent label Havêa Records presents the new collaborative EP from UK-based ZULA (also known as Freak Slug) and glue70. Forged in the small hours following big nights, the quiet time of cocooned downtime and amongst the lived hours soaking up inspiration from their home city of Manchester, it is a project born of experimental experiences. ZULA’s sugar-sweet vocals whisper 5am epiphanies over glue70’s molten beats.
Following up on their recent single, ‘Elevate Me’, the duo present another offering from their upcoming ‘SKIN44’ EP, due for release in November. ‘Let’s Go Out’, out 22nd October, is yet another highly considered and curated electronic rnb cut from the pair. Pitched vocals interplay with ZULA’s sultry vocal tones driven by glue70’s off-kilter synths and percussive grooves culminating in an expressive piece of electronic pop.
“‘Let’s Go Out’ is for those who love to dance, and haven’t forgotten the rush they get when they lock eyes with somebody and throw some shapes. Dance is a language that ZULA loves to speak in and this slow rhythmic floor filler reunites those we haven’t seen for a while in low-lit clubs.” – ZULA & glue70
The project between ZULA & glue70 has received support from Complex UK, Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio, BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6 Music. Most notably with ‘Cute’ being played by Arlo Parks on Annie Mac’s Power Down show, adding “I’m absolutely in love with the beat”. The new EP features the duo’s catchiest and most refined works to date, including the recently released ‘Cute’ and ‘Neighbours’ featuring rapper and long-time collaborator KinKai.
ZULA & glue70 ‘Let’s Go Out’ is available from 22nd October via Havêa Records.
