The name Schiist is a misspelling of the metamorphic rock Schist. The same goes for the song titles on Borra: they are variations of old local names from Salten. The photo that accompanies the release is of an orchid that grows locally and was taken in Tverlandet. It is called Ophrys insectifera or Fly orchid. It has evolved to mimic specific insects in order to transmit pollen and is one of several orchids found in the district. Schiist is a project that was initially started to learn some new techniques for making loops.
