Hello from Houston, Texas my name is Jonathan Barber. I am presenting the album Technoise from About This Product for review.
Since 2003 I have been working on and off with this album. It sounds like a lot of time but since the age of 13 I have been diagnosed with clinical O.C.D. Also I have been working on 3 other albums that are yet to be released about my struggles with mental health and being a perfectionist.
Every noise, tone, and beat have been carefully composed or edited. It does not seem like a normal noise album where almost all the music is improvised. I rather not call “Technoise” a brutal rhythmic noise album because it is meant to be a celebration of the positive sides of Mental Illness. For instance when you learn to navigate your mental health you become exuberant. Also filled with lively energy and excitement.
Technoise is influenced musically by Digital Russell Hasswell, Whitehoise, Merzbow and minimal 90’s dance music like Daft Punk’s – Rollinn and Scratchin.
