“With My Bare Hands” is the second single from Dan Kanvis’ upcoming album Understanding Dead Plants. Dan says it’s “a record that embodies my experiences growing up in suburban Metro Detroit in the ’90s and 2000s, as well as what I learned after moving to Chicago in 2009. I’ve been at odds with the common ideology of suburban adult males, whose worldview I find too often be nearsighted and lacking empathy. This song is a moment of confrontation that combines rap and grime with techno, drum & bass, and the pop punk music I was exposed to as a kid.”
