Before Nightmare Ending—the forthcoming double-LP by Portland artist Eluvium—drops in May, the veteran sonic manipulator has broken down one of his as-yet-unreleased tracks, highlighting the seperate elements that make up sprawling album cut “Envenom Mettle.” As part of its regular LAYERS series, Creators Project asked Eluvium to identify and share the bare audio of the building blocks which make the tune, including things like “scatter organs” along with piano, rhodes, tape delays, percussion, and more. Along the way, the producer gives a bit of insight into how the sounds were individually crafted and ultimately mixed together to yield his five-minute composition. The full breakdown of “Envenom Mettle” can be read/heard here.
