Deft is the latest artist to attempt at making a track in just 10 minutes for FACT‘s Against the Clock series. The Croydon producer stepped up to the challenge following the recent releases of two EPs: Blue Jasmine on Project: Mooncircle, and the Always Greener 12″ for WotNot. Given the steady (verging on prolific) rate of his output and its range of stylistic iterations—from ambient to drum & bass and footwork—it’s no surprise Deft delivers a more than respectable effort using the (traditionally Windows-only, though that looks set to change) program FL Studio, or “Fruity Loops.”
