A video of late footwork innovator DJ Rashad building a beat in 10 minutes has turned up online. As FACT reports, the video was shot in spring 2012 and is taken from I’m Tryna Tell Ya, a documentary by UK filmmakers Tim & Barry on the Chicago footwork scene. The film was apparently near completion when Rashad passed away. “After that, working on it was really difficult on a personal level,” the directors told FACT. “Once [we] got past that though, editing the film became quite a cathartic process.”

Rashad went against the clock for Beat This, a series by Don’t Watch That; the episode can be watched below, while the feature-length I’m Tryna Tell Ya documentary can be screened in full here.
