Bristolian producer Ooko steps through with a free track preceding his debut release via Mimm, the Sex Sells EP, which is available on May 28 on vinyl and June 6 on digital. “Spectral Worlds” is a speckled and low-slung house number that accurately reflects the current climate of Bristol. Heavyweight kicks make it known early on that this is indeed a dancefloor number—albeit in the vein of the Idle Hands crew, with a half-lidded, early morning vibe stumbling through the proceedings in style. Perhaps, the defining characteristic of Ooko’s track is his embellishment of peak-time synthesizers coiled around the narcotic beat, a high-definition and moody touch of what sounds like a requiem for an Ibizan dream.
