Berlin-based house mainstay Jesse Rose recently followed up his The Whole Twelve Inches LP with a large collection of remixes from the likes of tech-house tunesmith Sebo K, veteran producer Mathias Kaden, and Australian artist Playmode, among others. Though its not featured on The Whole Twelve Remixes—which dropped this week via Play it Down, an offshoot of the Made to Play imprint helmed by Rose—this “Dream Dub” version of “Underbelly” finds rising New Jersey artist Jaw Jam (a.k.a. Will DiMaggio, pictured above) using the weighty bass from Rose’s original production as the initial groundwork for his track. But once that foundation is in place, DiMaggio goes a different route, introducing a relaxed and breathy synth which interlaces with rippling snippets of the original vocal sample.
