Born in Israel and now based in the Canadian city of Toronto, Eytan Tobin is the next artist slated to step up for the Rare Beef imprint, dropping his For Everyone EP via the label next week. Leading the forthcoming effort is “Spaiku Talks,” a sharp slice of beatwork which weaves crystalline melodies and hand-played thumb pianos amongst tightly wound rhythmic patterns. To this swirling, ever-so-slightly off-kilter base, Tobin adds only light touches of synthetic vocal textures, using most of the track’s three-plus-minute runtime to rearrange and gently manipulate the track’s core patterns. One of four productions to be included on the Canadian talent’s upcoming outing, “Spaiku Talks” and Tobin’s full For Everyone EP will see its official release on September 9.
