“Within All Things” is the debut single from Devon-born, London-based vocalist Lapis, included on a very special V/A on Loose Lips, bringing together a range of artists from across the world in aid of Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation.
The track—which was produced by Mr. Pudding—an affecting and poignant slice of melancholic ambience, was written in response to particular patterns Lapis has noticed in society and around herself. Across two minutes, Lapis’ subtle spoken word flows like waves over swelling bass and layers of vocal melodies, with the track intended “as a short message of hope,” created by Lapis “in a moment of serenity and stillness.” As she states: “songwriting is a form of mindfulness; a way to relate to and understand the world around me and to strategize against obstacles in my life via sound and experimentation.”
