Finnish producer Halvtrak has offered up a one-off tune ahead of his forthcoming Dust Under Bridges EP for Don’t Be Afraid (out on October 21). Working with an expansive and atmospheric sound that extracts a spiritual nature from its frigid sonics, “A Trip Westward” is a steady and patient cut of ambient techno music that builds on a pensively marching pulse. Razor thin phasers and warbling oscillators engulf Halvtrak’s production, eventually slipping it into a punch-drunk groove.
