Shapeshifting Nashville duo Jensen Sportag (pictured above) dropped its debut LP, Stealth of Days, via Cascine late last month, and with the record’s release still freshly in the rearview, Brooklyn producer and LuckyMe affiliate Obey City has been enlisted to take on the slippery, R&B-infused “After Gardens” track. For the most part, Obey City relies on the existing music to dictate the flow of his remix, allowing floaty grooves and island-bell melodies to run their course as he reinforces them with new layers of sturdy percussion and an enhanced low-end slink. When all is said and done, Obey City has effectively reformatted the sweet, syrupy pop of Jensen Sportag to make it all the more street-wise.
